The Typical Festival Itinerary


DAY 1: HOME CITY - WASHINGTON, DC
Drive or depart on flight to Washington.

Arrive in Washington DC in the afternoon or evening.

Take a tour of the DC National Monuments on your own. Monuments can include, but are not limited to, World War II Memorial, Jefferson Memorial, Washington Monument, and the Lincoln Memorial.

Dinner on your own.

Overnight at Washington Area Hotel arranged on your own.

DAY 2: WASHINGTON, DC
Breakfast arranged on your own.

Possible Morning workshop or masterclass.

Lunch on your own at a food court in Washington DC.

Spend the early afternoon exploring the Smithsonian Museums on your own. Some of these museums include the Air and Space Museum, American History Museum, American Indian Museum, the Freer Gallery of Art, the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Gardens, the National Design Museum, Natural History Museum, the Portrait Gallery and the Postal Museum.

Short afternoon acoustic rehearsal/soundcheck in venue.

Possible INDIVIDUAL CONCERT. Exact performance schedule TBD. Possible venues include George Washington Masonic Memorial Theater, St. Paul's Episcopal Church and many others.

Dinner on your own.

Overnight at Washington Area Hotel.

DAY 3: WASHINGTON, DC
Breakfast arranged on your own.

Possible morning tour of the White House or Capitol Building, if approved. Otherwise free time in the morning to explore Washington, DC.

Lunch on your own.

Possible cultural exchange with other festival choirs.

Short afternoon acoustic rehearsal/sound check in venue.

Possible INDIVIDUAL CONCERT. Exact performance schedule TBD. Possible venues include New York Avenue Presbyterian Church, which welcomed President Abraham Lincoln and his family as pew holders on the first Sunday following his inauguration in March 1861.

Serenade! Festival Singing Dinner with other festival choirs.

Overnight in Washington Area Hotel.

DAY 4: WASHINGTON, DC
Breakfast arranged on your own.

Sing service at local church if desired or free morning to explore Washington, DC and/or Georgetown on your own. Nestled beyond the trendy restaurants, designer shops, and ultra cool bars, you'll find picturesque gardens, historic house museums, and a healthy helping of political intrigue. Walk in the footsteps of presidents and scholars, athletes and socialites, as you take in the sights and stories of this action-packed waterfront neighborhood.

Lunch on your own at a food court in Washington, DC.

Free afternoon to rest.

Short afternoon acoustic rehearsal/sound check in venue.

Possible INDIVIDUAL CONCERT. Exact performance schedule TBD. Possible venues include Strathmore Hall and many others.

Dinner on your own.

Overnight in Washington Area Hotel.

DAY 5: WASHINGTON, DC - HOME CITY
Breakfast arranged on your own.

Free day to explore Washington, DC on your own. Visit additional museums or explore additional monuments or visit the National Archives to see the original Declaration of Independence, U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights.

Depart for the Airport or Drive home.

 


Pre- and post-Festival extensions in Washington DC, Williamsburg, New York City, Philadelphia and to other parts of the USA are available upon request. Extensions can be custom designed to fit your group.
