The Choral Arts Society of Washington's 9th Tour with Classical Movements – South America
 Under the baton of Norman Scribner, founder and artistic director, the Choral Arts Society of Washington (CASW) began their tour of South America with an unforgettable performance. Joined by the Youth Orchestras of the Americas (also a Classical Movements client) and Guest Conductor Carlos Prieto, CASW performed at the legendary Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires as part of the Mozarteum Concert series. La Nacion, Buenos Aires's prominent newspaper, rated the excellent performance of "Carmina Burana" with five stars. While in Argentina, the chorus enjoyed tango shows, delicious local cuisine, gaucho skill shows, and horse riding through the charming countryside at Estancia Santa Susana.
Their 12 day tour with 4 day extensions, also included touring Brazil, where CASW enjoyed the breathtaking Corcovado Mountain and Sugar Loaf Mountain. Equally, impressive was their performance of "Verdi Requiem" with the Orquestra Petrobras Pro Musica and conductor Isaac Karabtchevsky at the famed Theatro Municipal. Also while in Rio, the CASW gave a grand concert of the Faure Requiem at the beautiful and historic Candelaria concert hall. While a few of the chorus members extended their tour to Peru to include Machu Picchu, and others to the Iguassu Falls, the remainder of the CASW members returned back to the States ending yet another successful and rewarding tour.
