The Young People's Chorus of NYC and the University Glee Club of NYC Engage Canada 2 Choirs Perform 20 Concerts in 22 Days
Young People's Chorus
In June, the Young People's Chorus of New York City (YPC) Cantare Division, directed by Elizabeth Núñez, embarked on a tour to Canada, performing an astounding 18 concerts in 8 days. The Chorus was invited to participate and compete in Canada's International Choral Kathaumixw.
The Young People's Chorus competed in three categories: Contemporary Music, Children's Choirs and Folk and Cultural Traditions. Before, after, and in between these competitions, the Chorus performed in 18 concerts, including the Gala Opening, Awards Ceremony and Closing Gala.
When not performing in one of their 18 concerts, the YPC explored downtown Vancouver. They were even invited to a BBQ on the Powell River Bay by the Mayor. On their last day in Canada, the Chorus sailed around the area, from Saltery Bay to Earls Cove, to Langdale Ferry Terminal to Horseshoe Bay.
 University Glee Club
Also in June, the University Glee Club of NYC, directed by Francisco Núñez departed for a 4 day, 2 concert tour of Montreal and Lake George Village. There, the singers performed at Lakeside Sheppard's Park and Le Mondial Choral Loto-Quebec World Choral Festival in Laval.
In their free time, the University Glee Club explored Montreal and listened to other choral performances of Le Mondial Choral Loto. Ending their trip, the singers enjoyed a two hour cocktail cruise aboard the SS Mohican.
