Holy Cross College Choir Serenades Spain

This past May, the Holy Cross College Choir, directed by Pamela Mindell, set off on a 9 day, 4 concert tour of Spain. They visited the cities of Madrid, Sevilla, Toledo, Granada and Malaga. The 44 member choir performed four concerts at a Cathedral in Alcalá de Henares, a church in Seville, a Basilica in Granada and a church in Málaga.

A major part of their tour was the collaborative concert at the Basilica de San Juan de Dios in Granada. Holy Cross College sang their concert and then together they sang the songs "Te Quiero" by Alberto Favero and "Canciones de Alto Deuros" by Juan-Alfonso García, with each participating conductor leading a different piece. After the concert, the two choirs enjoyed some social time, getting to know each other and enjoying the challenge of trying to break the language barrier.

"Thank you for everything with our recent tour. The trip to Spain was really wonderful. The students had a fabulous time, and we are all so grateful for all that you did to make this happen. Everything was so well planned, as always, and the sights were magnificent. The four concerts were all very well received. The audience really wanted to meet us, shake our hands, and talk with us after the performances, even though only 4-5 of the students spoke Spanish. The most touching was our last performance in Malaga."
