Morgan State University Sings Through Italy Concerts at Vatican City, Bologna, Pordenone and Milan
Morgan State University performs at the Cathedral of St. Mark in Pordenone, Italy
Morgan State University Choir serenaded their way through a concert tour of Italy, singing to thousands of people in stellar venues along the way. Under the direction of Dr. Eric Conway, the group's 10-day tour was accompanied by a delegation of university administrators, faculty and state legislators.
The concert tour began with a mass at the Vatican in Rome. From there, they traveled to Florence with a vocal masterclass focusing on Italian Opera. Continuing on to Bologna, the choir performed at a festival concert before being hosted by local choirs in Pordenone and Portogruaro for more wonderful concerts. The group concluded their tour with a closing concert in Milan which also featured another Classical Movements client, the Collège Vocal de Laval of Canada.

"On that day, there were nearly 1,000 people listening to us. The basilica is the premier venue, chorally speaking, and it just seemed appropriate that our choir, like other world-renowned choirs, would be able to share and perform in that space. It was as special for us as singing in Carnegie Hall." Dr. Eric Conway - Director, Morgan State University Singers |
