Robert Moir

Having spent 26 years with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, Robert Moir retired as Senior Vice President of Artistic Planning and Audience Engagement in June of 2015. In that position, he was responsible for all classical music programming, organizing and booking both foreign and domestic tours, commissioning new works, administering the PSO’s Composer of the Year program, as well as audience engagement concepts and strategies. During his tenure, he collaborated closely with Music Directors Lorin Maazel, Mariss Jansons, Manfred Honeck and Principal Pops Conductor Marvin Hamlisch. Prior to coming to Pittsburgh, Robert spent five years as Manager of the Norfolk Chamber Music Festival. He received his musical training at the New England Conservatory and Yale School of Music.
