Robert Moir, Consultant

Robert spent twenty-six years with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, retiring as Senior Vice President of Artistic Planning and Audience Engagement in June 2015. In that position he was responsible for all classical music programming, organizing and booking foreign and domestic tours, commissioning new works, the Composer of the Year program, and audience engagement concepts and strategies. During his tenure he collaborated closely with Music Directors Lorin Maazel, Mariss Jansons, and Manfred Honeck, and with Principal Pops Conductor Marvin Hamlisch. Prior to coming to Pittsburgh he spent five years as Manager of the Norfolk Chamber Music Festival. He received his musical training at the New England Conservatory and Yale School of Music.
