From Minneapolis to Jo’burg, When Kathy Met Sidwell
11:30 AM: While the Minnesota Orchestra loads into Durban City Hall, 350 miles north in the African continent’s second-largest city, 65 members of the Minnesota Chorale arrive in Johannesburg.
1 PM: Kathy Saltzman Romey, Artistic Director of the Minnesota Chorale, touches down at Jo’burg’s O.R. Tambo International from Germany.
3 PM: Romey attends her very first rehearsal with Classical Movements’dear friends: the Sidwell Mhlongo-led Gauteng Choristers.
