Palazzos, piazzas and pizzas: From Renaissance nobility to home delivery, Italian culture has touched almost every part of the world. The land of composers like Rossini, Puccini and Vivaldi, Opera and a rich liturgical musical tradition offers choral and orchestral ensembles alike the chance to play in historical venues for audiences steeped in classical music traditions.

Classical Movements has been planning tours to Italy since 1995. With Italian speakers and musicians on staff, successful tours have been planned for the Yale Institute of Sacred Music with the Juilliard School, Morgan State University Choir, University of Kentucky Women’s Choir, Children’s Chorus of Washington, Smith College, Yale Glee Club, Yale Symphony Orchestra, Lexington Singers, Pacific Boychoir and Choral Arts Society of Washington among many others. Testimonials

“I just wanted to let you know how exceptional the tour in Europe turned out to be for the Singers. The venues were excellent, hotels were great and Constanza was a dream to work with. The highlights were the concert with the Vienna Mozart Orchestra and the evening mass at Notre Dame in Paris. Salzburg and Innsbruck were great, too, a lot of fun. Thanks again for putting together a fantastic tour. Professional, personable and efficient are only a few words that can describe Classical Movements. I have had the opportunity to personally work with this organization on tours throughout Austria, France and Italy. The venues chosen for performances were top-quality and world-renowned, and this was a priority for our group. Classical Movements definitely puts a lot of heart into their work.”

Cora Hughes | Tour Planner, Lexington Singers

“In my opinion, our trip was a huge success. From a musical point of view, it was absolutely at the highest professional level. Logistically, everything was as smooth as could be. The venues were great, the schedule worked well, Luigi was fantastic, etc. And, let’s face it, there are far worse places to be than Italy!”

Benjamin Sosland | Administrative Director, Juilliard Historical Performance, 2011

“Our Touring Choir just returned from an amazing 12-day performance tour of Germany, Austria, Hungary, Slovenia and Italy.  It was an incredible adventure, with standing-room-only performances in St. Andrew’s Church in Salzburg, St. Stephen’s Cathedral and Haydn Church in Vienna, Matthias Church in Budapest and St. Mark’s Basilica in Venice. While in Austria, CCC participated in Classical Movements’ Rhapsody! International Choral Festival, joining wonderful vocal groups from Africa, Austria, Canada, China and the USA.”

With almost a year of meticulous planning by the Choral Arts staff, Blue Heart Tours and Classical Movements Inc. it was the society’s third overseas trip in three years. The Choral Arts Society toured Russian with the National Symphony Orchestra and Rostropovich in October of 1993 and 10 weeks prior traveled through Italy with performances at the Vatican and Spoleto Festival.”
